Game Night

We cleaned the house pretty thoroughly today and since the Christmas decorations were up--we decided to have a game night. We enjoyed eating a lot of the Thanksgiving leftovers and then played a game of hand and foot and thankfully the women won!! Josiah actually sat up by Austin for 10 seconds by himself!!!!

Can you believe that my sister is due in February with the baby??

Thanksgiving and 5 months old

Today Josiah turned 5 months old!! We can't believe how much he has learned in the last 5 months old. We also enjoyed celebrating our first Thanksgiving together. We did nursery at church this morning and then headed to my parents for the dinner. I enjoyed helping my grandma carve the turkey too.

Then we headed out to Tim's parents to enjoy some time with them as well as a little light supper.

Gallagher and Josiah

Asheley and Gallagher stopped by today, so, we were able to get some cute pictures of the two of them. Gallagher was actually born only 1 day before Josiah.

Firsts

We started taking out some of the Christmas stuff yesterday. (We actually wrapped all of the Christmas presents that we have bought!!) We found our Christmas hats so Josiah had some fun trying them on. We also put together Josiah's high chair and he looks like such a big boy in there. Today we fed Josiah for the first time with "real" food. We made some sweet potatoes and he seemed to like them. Of course the first thing he does when he gets the spoon in his mouth is do a little bubble so then he has a spot of sweet potato in his hair :)

So, here are some pictures of the "firsts"

Rearranging

We rearranged Josiah's room this weekend to try to optimize the space. The crib used to be in the center of the room and we moved it to the innermost place of the room to try and keep him warmer. We also cleaned out his closet stuff which was fun.

Random Pictures

Here are some random pictures from the last couple of weeks. Not much is happening here. Josiah is getting to be more exciting every day. He loves to be in his exersaucer swirling around. He is eating cereal every day and is getting better with that.

Expecting

Haha!! We are not expecting another child, but we have so many friends and family that are pregnant right now. It seems like when "it rains it pours". We have 7 friends and family that are on our prayer board right now that are pregnant. How exciting!!

Santa

Josiah went and visited Santa for the first time yesterday. Santa was super nice and Josiah was able to sit on his lap for a couple of minutes. Josiah was having such a great time eating Santa's finger!!

Weigh in

Josiah went to the doctor today for his 4 month check up and 4 shots!! (poor kid--but he did great). He weighed a whopping 14 pounds 11 3/4 ounces and was 26 1/2 inches long. Pretty impressive. The pediatrician didn't spend too much time with us but acted like he was doing well. We are so thankful that he does not appear to have any side effects again!!

Cloth diaper

Here is a picture of Josiah wearing his first cloth diaper!! We are trying it out to determine if we like it in order to save some money. We'll see ...

Happy Birthday Evan!

Our nephew Evan celebrated his 4th birthday today!! We enjoyed celebrating with him a couple of weeks ago and hope that he had a great day!!

Busy couple of days

The past couple of days have been pretty busy. On Monday, Josiah received a card in the mail from the White House (we sent his birth announcement to the White House). So, Josiah received a letter (card) from President Bush and his wife. It's pretty cool!!

Yesterday we were all up early and went to vote. It was pretty neat to be able to vote as a family!!

Then my family went out to dinner to celebrate my mom's birthday. Afterwards they came back to our house to watch a little bit of the election and have some wonderful brownies!

Halloween

Yesterday we celebrated Halloween by travelling all around and visiting family. First we headed out to visit Great Grandpa and Grandma B. Josiah enjoyed receiving his first loaf of Great Grandma's banana bread!!

Then we headed to South Holland to visit Great Grandma S. Unfortunately it was his first time visiting her at her house, but we hope to be able to continue to visit her more frequently.

Then, we went to Tinley Park to visit my family and do a little trick or treating. We were also able to see my friend, Deb, who we hadn't seen in forever!! We were able to take a family picture which was cool too!!

Then we headed out to Highland to see Tim's parents. Josiah was getting very tired by this time and ended up sleeping through our dinner at Red Robin!!
